At Maumee Bay Lodge, we offer an unforgettable vacation experience filled with fun for all ages—and you don’t have to look very far! Take a leisurely stroll on our 2 mile boardwalk, or enjoy any of our state-of-the-art recreational facilities, from fitness rooms and court sports and outdoor swimming pools will keep everyone busy. And our children’s programs will keep their young imaginations fresh.
Miles of newly paved biking trails wind throughout the park. Adult and children’s bikes are available for rent, $7 for the first hour and $3 for each additional hour, from May to October. Infant seats are available at no extra charge.
Enjoy an afternoon float on the lake with our paddleboat and canoe rentals.Rates start at $7 for the first hour and $3 for each additional hour. Must be 18 or over to rent a boat. Lifejackets are required and are available.
Fishing on Lake Erie
Maumee Bay Lodge guests are just steps away from Lake Erie, the “walleye capital of the world.” The lake offers some of the best fishing experiences in the region and catfish, freshwater drum, small mouth bass and yellow perch are abundant. A man-made inland lake near the lodge offers additional fishing opportunities.
Our fitness room offers a complete line of cardiovascular and weight-training equipment, including treadmills, elliptical and step-climbing machines, and a stationary bike. Free weights and exercise pads are also available. After a workout, be sure to check out our saunas.
There are at least seven caches located inside the Maumee Bay State Park and several others in the surrounding area. Navigational units can be rented at the front desk. Educational information about geocaching is available to beginning cachers.
Cost is $35 + tax for 1/2 hour and $70 + tax for 1 hour. Service is available year-round. Please call the lodge at 419-836-1466 to set up appointments prior to your arrival.
Lobbies, Lobbies and More Lobbies
Over two dozen sitting areas scattered throughout the facilities offer great places for socializing and playing games. We have a long list of games available for complimentary use from the front desk. Three large fireplaces offer the perfect setting to relax and enjoy a good book. A free lending library is located in the main lobby.
Make a splash with our year-round indoor pool (open 7AM–12AM) and outdoor pool (9am-9pm Sunday-Thursday and 9am-10pm on Friday/Saturday nights), and whirlpools. Lake swimming is easily accessible at the inland lake with 1,500 feet of beach, as well as on the shore of Lake Erie. Our pool area also features a variety of kid-friendly splash park fixtures.
The game room offers exciting entertainment for kids of all ages, including pool and table tennis. Adjacent is a small room with tables and chairs, an ideal place to enjoy snacks and pizza. Please see front desk to reserve a time.
Two beautiful hardwood courts are available for either racquetball or wallyball. Reservations and equipment rental can be made at the front desk. Lit tennis and basketball courts, a sand volleyball court, shuffleboard and horseshoes courts are also available.
Just for Kids Activities
Our arcade room is a popular favorite or burn off some energy at the outdoor playground. No recreation attendant and evening popcorn from Labor Day – Memorial Day.
Children’s Soft Play Area
Our new Soft Play Area features a pirate ship and ocean scene. This area can be used by children of all ages, but during busy periods top priority will be given to children 42” or shorter.
The Trautman Nature Center
Explore the history and nature of Maumee Bay State Park through a variety of interpretive programs at our nature center, located just a few hundred yards from Maumee Bay Lodge. Learn about the park’s history as the site of numerous significant Native American events, and why the Maumee Bay area was once known as the Great Black Swamp.
On selected dates from Memorial Day to Labor Day, the park’s Amphitheater features Saturday night entertainment. These events are free to the public and can include musical groups, magicians or improvisations. All events start at 7:00PM.
