Seasonal Weather

Winter - December, January, February

The winter months at Maumee Bay present the traveler with a variety of weather situations varying from rain to ice to snow. Precipitation amounts also vary greatly from year-to-year. The average high for winter is 34 °F and the average low is 20 °F. We suggest packing warm clothes; including, overcoats, boots, gloves, scarf, and hat, but do not forget your bathing suit for indoor swimming.

Spring - March, April, May
Spring is a time of swiftly changing weather conditions in Northwest Ohio. Early spring can be a carbon copy of the winter months with the likelihood of either rain or snow; however, late spring can be very pleasant with temperatures averaging 45 °F for highs in March to 71 °F for highs in May. Low temperatures can range from 28 °F in March to 50 °F degrees in May. Guests will need to pack for a variety of weather possibilities, ranging from winter extremes to near summer like conditions. In late spring, the temperatures may be very pleasant during the day, but for a nighttime stroll remember to bring a jacket. Don't forget your golf gear!

Summer - June, July, August
The long, hot days of summer are the best time to get out and enjoy all of the park's offerings (though the occasional summer storm may put a damper on some outdoor plans.) Hiking, biking, jogging, in-line skating, and swimming are just a few of the many popular activities that guests of Maumee Bay can expect to enjoy. Not only is summer the hottest season (daily temperatures average 85 °F) it is also the wettest, with average precipitation of about 10.5 inches for the season. Pack light clothes and plenty of sunscreen for that day at the beach or just lounging by the pool.

Fall - September, October, November
Early fall often finds very pleasant conditions during the day at Maumee Bay with highs about 76 °F, but temperatures often fall off during the late evening to a cooler 50 °F; you may need a light jacket or sweatshirt. By November, conditions once again can be very winter-like with the freezing point of 32 °F being the average nighttime temp. Pack warmly but be prepared during the early parts of the season with your shorts and t-shirts.
